British Precast sustainability award win

May 2011

Aggregate Industries has won the British Precast Concrete Federation award for corporate sustainability.

The award recognises our sustainability report, published in July 2010, which documents our non-financial performance in 2009. It became the first report produced by any company in our sector to gain the rating of A+ under the GRI sustainability reporting framework.

The judges commented that our report set a new benchmark for the sector and contained an exceptional range of highly effective sustainability activities, initiatives and achievements. They felt that many companies, both in the precast sector and outside, would not only be impressed by the quality and breadth of the work reported, but they would also learn from reading about it.

Aggregate Industries also received commendation in the health and safety award category for behavioural safety and under the sustainability site category we were commended for our work on the Ceequal ‘Excellent ’Taunton park and ride scheme.
