Sustainable Manufacturer/ Supplier of the Year

At the Building Magazine Sustainability Awards, we won the award for Sustainable Manufacturer/ Supplier of the Year at the Royal College of Physicians in London.

We came up against some stiff competition to scoop the award at what is fast becoming one of the most important dates in the built environment industry diary.

The win is great testament to our ongoing commitment towards sustainability. There are many elements that have gone into this over the course of the year. Notable successes that have contributed towards this prestigious industry recognition include:

• work under the BRE BES 6001 Framework for Responsible Sourcing of building products
• our 2009 sustainability report, rated to application level A+ under GRI guidelines. GRI is a recognised global framework for reporting standards
• inclusion in The Sunday Times Best Green Companies for three years running
• gaining the Carbon Trust Standard for the work we have carried out in reducing and monitoring CO2
• our commitment towards recycling and the promotion of recycled and alternatives to virgin aggregates
