Newbold Quarry

The documents contained on this website have been provided to give detailed information of our planning application for Newbold Quarry, Barton Under Needwood.

Our application is to extract a further 13.5 million tonnes of sand and gravel from Newbold Quarry, which we anticipate will extend the life of the site by 15 years - preserving 90 jobs in the local economy. Newbold Quarry is well located to meet the demands for aggregates and aggregate based products that will arise from the proposed developments within the area.

The extension and current extraction areas will be returned to a mixture of agriculture, woodland and water based recreation and nature conservation under a comprehensive restoration scheme.

Following a consultation period with local residents and other stakeholders we submitted our planning application on 3 February 2012. The application can be viewed on Staffordshire County Council's website.
