Sustainability for Aggregate
Industries has always been a core part of the business. As
a quarrying company we look to maximise the amount of material we
extract and minimise the environmental and community disruption. At
the end of production we are looking to return the land in a form
fit for future generations. This can be achieved by creating
habitats for wildlife or amenities for the local
community.
The links from this page represent only a
small number of the projects and initiatives we have been involved
with over the past 10 years. The pace of change and the level of
awareness is growing of the importance of becoming more
sustainable. We are working with others in order to understand
better what it is we need to achieve.
Occasionally we gain recognition for our leadership such as being
rewarded recently by British Standards Institute in their
celebrations of the 10th Anniversary of ISO 14001. Aggregate
Industries UK Ltd was named “Most Innovative Organisation”.
