How many graduates do you recruit each year?
There is no fixed quota for the number of graduates we recruit as we always find places in our business for the right talent.
How long does the Graduate Scheme last?
The training programme varies from person to person depending on the opportunities available and the career path you wish to follow. All the trainees complete a 4 week induction and then typically undertake between 6 and 18 months of project work. You can expect to be in your first substantive role within 12 - 18 months of joining the company. Take a look at some of our graduate profiles to see where previous successful applicants have been placed.
When is the closing date?
The 2012 Graduate Management Training Scheme is now closed.
What degree do I need?
We recruit from a range of academic disciplines including business, management systems, engineering and geology, as well as other technically orientated subjects such as manufacturing, quarrying and environmental sciences. We are most interested in the graduate behind the qualification, so if you have excellent interpersonal skills, commercial awareness and can demonstrate the drive and determination to succeed, then we look forward to receiving your application.
Do you only accept applications from 21 year olds?
No! Our graduate scheme is open to people of all ages, but is specifically designed for people starting out in their career.
How long will the recruitment process take?
We try to make the selection process as quick and efficient as we can. It really depends on you! As soon as you complete one stage, we will make the arrangements for the next.
Will I receive feedback on my application?
Due to the number of applications we receive, we are unable to provide feedback to all candidates. However, if you attend one of our assessment centres, we will give you detailed feedback on your performance, even if you are unsuccessful.
When can I start?
The 2012 graduate intake is in September 2012.
Can I defer my offer?
We want you to start working with us as soon as possible. We will consider deferring offers on an individual basis.
How mobile do I have to be?
From the day you start working with us, you will need to be flexible regarding your location to make the most of the opportunities available to you. Due to the fast-changing needs and opportunities within our business, we require all our graduate trainees to be fully mobile within the UK. During your training, you will be working in several different places, and as your career progresses, you may be asked to change locations. Support will be offered for accommodation and travelling expenses.
You will also need a full UK driving licence before we can make you an offer of employment.
Do you pay interview expenses?
We reimburse reasonable travelling costs incurred during the selection process. Make sure you keep all your receipts.
