I’ve managed to progress within the Company fairly rapidly since I joined in 2002 as a Sales Administrator, straight from University. Within a year I was managing our Commercial Hard Landscaping sales office at Croft, overseeing a small team. I really enjoyed the interaction with the customers, so it seemed natural for my next career move to be into external sales. This gave me the opportunity to get out on the road and meet our customers face to face. I got a real buzz from developing successful relationships with key accounts and managing to progress preferred supplier statuses.
When my current position in marketing was advertised, I saw this as an opportunity to put the product and customer knowledge I had gained within my previous sales positions to creative use. I love being able to design and deliver our customer communications, which can be anything from product launches to advertising and promotions.
Aggregate Industries has definitely put a lot of resource into developing my skills through training such as the ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) and the CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing) programmes, which has allowed me to progress my career within an extensive and exciting company structure.
