Brief

When 2012 housebuilder of the year, Barratt Homes, needed a sympathetic walling material to match an existing natural feature at a unique waterside development in Plymouth, a local solution was conveniently near at hand. Just three miles away, to be precise.

Solution

Barratt Homes turned to Aggregate Industries, to supply 600 tonnes of hand selected, locally sourced limestone walling stone for the 222 new home project alongside Hooe Lake. The material, Moorcroft walling stone, provided an excellent visual link to the site’s distinctive rock outcrop and gained swift approval from local planning.

Aggregate Industries has supplied the appointed groundworkers for the scheme, MJL Contractors, with over 3,000 tonnes of material since the commencement of the project in August 2012.
