  • Sustainability key

Brief

The village of Norton Saint Philip is located approximately 7 miles south of the City of Bath in the West Country of England. Set in a scenery of rolling green Somerset hills, the village is home to about 1000 residents.

This is a place with a history, a small battle was fought here during Monmouth's Rebellion in 1685, and 'The George Inn' is one of the oldest pubs in England, with an entry in the record books.

Solution

With the long history of the village and it's rural location at the forefront of the clients mind, a high quality finish that remains inkeeping with the surrounding area was an essential specification point.

The result was the incorporation of Bradstone Masonry walling. This product has been developed as a simple and ingenious method of reproducing the appearance of traditional random rubble walling usually found in natural stone areas. Benefits such as;

  • Cast in a unique 'T' shape with false joints giving the appearance of being produced out of individual stones
  • Readily accepted in conservation areas and areas of outstanding natural beauty
  • Mortar joints and filled false joints create an effective random coursing pattern
  • Economic alternative to random rubble masonry
