Sponsorship for Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts

June 2010

We were delighted to sponsor the Royal Society of Wildlife Trust’s annual Directors conference in York in June.

The Yorkshire Wildlife Trust hosted the event held at the Royal York Hotel where leaders of the 47 UK Wildlife Trusts met for their annual conference where they focused on the Trust’s two key missions: A Living Landscape and Living Seas, both of which set out to ensure that the UK’s natural environment is well equipped to handle current and future threats such as a changing climate.

With these two key missions in mind delegates were whisked off to one of Yorkshire Wildlife Trust’s 80 reserves - Flamborough Head Nature Reserve. Led by the reserves manager Caroline Comins delegates took a stroll along Flamborough’s coast path to take a look at the nesting puffins.

The group also joined Marine Awareness Officer Kat Saunders on the beach at Thornwick Bay for a spot of shoresearching (rockpooling for adults!). All the delegates thoroughly enjoyed their day at Flamborough Headland spotting lots of marine and coastal wildlife. The Trust will be running lots of activities in and around the reserve over the summer so for more information visit or call the Trust on 01904 659570.
