Aggregate Industries announces three non-executive
directorships
Aggregate Industries has further strengthened
its Board with the appointment of three non-executive directors,
Christopher Garnett, James Davis and John Carr. All took up their
appointments on 1 May 2007.
Christopher Garnett is a Board member of the
Olympic Delivery Authority with special responsibility for
transport, and a member of the ODA audit committee.
Prior to this, Christopher was Chairman and
Chief Executive of Great North Eastern Railway and Senior Vice
President – Rail for Sea Containers Ltd and in addition to holding
other senior positions within Sea Containers Limited was Commercial
Director of Eurotunnel Plc and European Sector Director for Sealink
British Ferries. Christopher is also a Board Member for
Transport for London and on the Board of Anglian Water Services
Ltd.
James Davis is a consultant with Freshfields,
the City law firm, holding various client relationship
responsibilities with the firm, specializing in general corporate
advice, public and private mergers and acquisitions and private
equity work. He was a Partner with Freshfields from 1976 until 2006
and opened and led the firm’s Singapore office from 1980 to 1984.
He was a member of the firm’s Partnership Council for seven years.
He is also a Governor of Sutton’s Hospital in Charterhouse and a
Trustee of the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology Trust.
John Carr has served as Chairman of the Board
of Southern Concrete Products, LLC and Paver Systems LLC since 2001
when the two companies acquired the Tarmac America Building
Products business. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer
of Tarmac America, Inc from March 1996 to December 2000, having
held other senior positions with the company including Senior Vice
President of Tarmac America in 1993, before becoming Chief
Operating Officer in 1994.
John also sits on the Board of Directors of
Jamestown-Yorktown Educational Trust, Greater Norfolk Corporation
and Virginia Commercial Space Flight Authority, and formerly
served on the boards of both the National Stone Association and the
Florida Concrete and Products Association.
Aggregate Industries’ Chairman, Peter Tom,
