We are engaged on Highways Agency and Local Authority term maintenance contracts and frameworks; and major projects; where our depth of resources for asphalt surfacing is supported by extensive asphalt supply capabilities across the United Kingdom.

Safety is Our Priority
In our business improving the safety culture and performance of our organisation is an ongoing and clear commitment of management and employees alike. Initiatives undertaken over the past three years have been responsible for lowering our LTIFR (lost time incident frequency rate) to a historic level and was celebrated in 2008 when we received Constructing Excellence’s National Award for Safety Performance. We are not complacent with this achievement and we continue to improve our safety performance, to achieve a Zero Incident workplace.

Customer Care
Our work on the public highway is managed and carried out in a considerate manner. We adopt and implement the key principles of the Considerate Constructor Scheme; registering all our projects to demonstrate a high level of compliance in key areas of importance to our clients and their stakeholders. We adopt a proactive approach to liaison and consultation with affected residents, businesses and the travelling public. In 2009 we received two awards (bronze and silver) by the Considerate Constructors Scheme.

As an Aggregate Industries business we are backed by the financial and global business strength of its holding company, Holcim, one of the world’s largest cement and aggregates producers.

We operate management systems that are accredited to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and demonstrate the control systems we have in place to deliver the range of services across our business.

Quality training programmes are among the best in our industry with the number of training days provided for our employees exceeding the Constructing Excellence national average. Our surfacing operations are accredited to the Highway Sector Scheme 16; while our traffic management division holds Highway Sector Scheme accreditation to schemes 12A, 12B and 12D.
