To provide an aesthetically pleasing masonry walling unit which will meet the aesthetic and structural needs of this type of application. To achieve empathy with the local stone colours and a clean sharp appearance using tooled and polished finished masonry units.

Solution

Fyfestone masonry with tooled and polished finishes were chosen as the preferred finishes for this new Special Needs School in Guernsey. Hydraulically wet pressed masonry was a key consideration to maximise the longer term weathering properties.
