Aggregate Industries operates seven regional construction materials businesses in the United States. These regional businesses participate in all sectors of the construction industry, supplying aggregates-based materials and contracting services to a wide range of projects including large, publicly financed infrastructure projects, commercial, and residential developments.
 
The core business of producing crushed stone and sand and gravel is enhanced by added value operations that produce ready-mixed concrete, asphalt, and concrete products. In addition, recycling, liquid asphalt, soil remediation and retailing businesses are also undertaken, creating true, vertically integrated businesses.
 
Total turnover for Aggregate Industries Inc. in 2006 was $1,704m and its sales volumes were:

Our US regions are:
 

green square bulletThe Northeast Region serving markets in eastern Massachusetts including the Boston metropolitan area and Worcester, Massachusetts and in southern New Hampshire, including the Manchester and Nashua markets. Aggregate Industries supports this market with its requirements for aggregates, asphalt, and ready-mixed concrete.  The region also operates liquid asphalt (bitumen) terminals, soil remediation facilities and environmentally responsible asphalt and concrete recycling centers;

green square bulletThe Mid Atlantic Region which supplies aggregates, asphalt and ready-mixed concrete to markets in Washington DC, Maryland, northern Virginia, and West Virginia. This region also operates recycling facilities and an architectural stone product outlet known as Stone Garden Hardscapes;

green square bulletThe Central Region which supplies aggregates, asphalt and contracting services, ready-mixed concrete, concrete products and construction supplies to customers in its’ markets in southwest Michigan and northern Indiana. This includes markets surrounding Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Lansing and Jackson, Michigan and South Bend and Elkhart in Indiana;

acquired in July 2006 and supplies aggregates, ready-mixed concrete and concrete paving to customers in and around the Northwestern part of metropolitan Chicago and southeastern Wisconsin. Business brands include Paveloc, which specialises in the supply of premium paving products.

green square bulletThe North Central Region suppling aggregates, asphalt, ready-mixed concrete, recycling services, contracting services and pre cast concrete products through the Masterblock brand to central Minnesota, especially the twin cities of Minneapolis-St. Paul, as well as eastern North Dakota and small parts of western Wisconsin.;

serving the metropolitan Denver and northern Front Range markets in Colorado. We are the largest ready-mixed concrete producer in Colorado and a leading producer of aggregates and asphalt in the greater Denver metropolitan market.

green square bulletThe Southwest Region which encompasses our businesses in the southwest serving the Las Vegas valley including Nevada, Utah and Denver and the metropolitan market in Colorado. In Nevada we produce aggregates, asphalt and ready-mixed concrete and have significant construction and surfacing businesses.
