Open graded subbase used for storage of water below Infilta permeable block paving, DrainAsphalt or Hydrain. Meets requirements of BS EN 13242.
Specification for durabilityA crucial consideration is the performance of aggregates when saturated with water and the fact that due to the open graded nature of the subbase the load is carried via point to point contact between particles. Thus, the specification includes appropriate limits for water absorption, the Los Angeles test (resistance to fragmentation) and for the Micro Devaltest (resistance to wear).
