Worldwide recognition and $US2 million prize money

Entries for 2011 are now closed!

The 3rd International Holcim Awards competition offering a total of USD 2 million in prize money, closed for entries on 23rd March 2011.

The Holcim Awards is a worldwide competition designed to recognise any contribution to sustainable construction - irrespective of scale - in architecture, landscape and urban design, civil and mechanical engineering and related disciplines.

If you managed to get your submission in on time, thank you for your entry and good luck!

What happens next?

There are two stages to the competition:

  1. Regional awards - Five regional competitions across the globe are assessed individually by an independent jury resulting in a bronze, silver and gold award. Furthermore, first second and third prizes are awarded in the  'Next Generation' category. The awards ceremony for Europe will be held in Milan on 15th - 16th September 2011.
  2. Global awards - The three main winners from each of the five regions (Gold, Silver and Bronze) will then automatically qualify for the Global Holcim Awards where a global independent jury will evaluate the fifteen finalists and in 2012 award gold, silver and bronze prizes to the best projects. The global ceremony will be decided and confirmed dependant upon the winning entry.
