Investing in the future through training


By providing training and development opportunities for our staff, we are investing in the future of our business.

In total we devoted 169,380 hours of training on staff learning and development in 2013, with courses covering health and safety, commercial training, operational performance, interpersonal and soft skills.

Dialogue - talking to each other

Training and development opportunities are identified through annual appraisals. These are a key feature for all employees at Aggregate Industries and take place annually, with mid-year support.

Implemented in 2009, an online system captures the appraisal process which is also instrumental in our succession planning. With regular appraisals we can ensure that we get the best out of our employees, by giving them the best support. During 2013, a big push encouraged more employees than ever before to take part and benefit from the Dialogue process, we now have a 97% plus completion rate.

We report the number of training hours and Dialogues given to our employees annually.
