Scope of our 2015 Sustainability reporting
As a major supplier of building materials to the construction industry, we are conscious of both the impacts and benefits our products have on people, the environment and the economy. Our Sustainability Report sets out to report on these impacts and benefits, and updates on progress against targets set out in the 2012 Sustainability Charter.
Based at Bardon Hall in Markfield, Leicestershire, Aggregate Industries UK Limited is the business name for the scope of our 2015 Sustainability Report. This includes all wholly owned operations within the UK, Halsvik Aggregates in Norway and Ronez in the Channel Islands. We are members of the LafargeHolcim Group, a publicly listed company on the Swiss stock exchange. The report covers the calendar year from 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2015 and applies to all our wholly owned business operations unless stated. We neither include our joint ventures in this report nor acquisitions or divestment and closures completed in the reporting period.
How we report
We have produced an annual sustainability report since 2002, the traditional means of reporting on an annual basis remains appropriate for our main indicators of performance. We make every attempt to continue with indicators from previous reports to allow trends to develop. We are part of a major global business and that is highly relevant in terms of our accountability and disclosures and our report needs to be read in conjunction with the Annual Report and Sustainable Development Report from LafargeHolcim, our parent company.
Wherever possible and relevant our metrics are calculated using standard accepted principles.
