About our Coatbridge Small & Large Load Concrete Plant
The Coatbridge ready mixed concrete plant can be found just off the B753, less than a mile south of Main Street. Crucially, the plant can be reached in less than ten minutes from the A8. With a mix of customers ranging from local builders to larger contractors, the plant offers Aggregate Industries' wide portfolio of traditional and specialist concrete products.
Some of the team's most recent work includes the Scottish Government's 'M8 M73 M74 Motorway Improvements' scheme. This project involves the extension of the M8 motorway between Baillieston and Newhouse, alongside other major improvements, which will enhance connectivity to the local road network, M73 and M74.
Another notable project the team has supplied to was for the new radiotherapy units at Monklands Hospital. Radiotherapy centres require construction materials capable of containing harmful radiation which is used in the treatment of around 50 per cent of cancer patients in the UK. High density concrete is the solution for medical applications which require this level of radiation protection. The Coatbridge plant supplied 3,500m3 of ready mixed concrete, including 185m3 of heavyweight concrete suitable for the containment of radiation.
