Located next to the £500 million Bullring, Europe’s largest shopping complex, The Birmingham Alliance, is responsible for the development of Birmingham’s whole East Side, and has transformed the old Grade 2 listed Moor Street Station into an exciting new gateway to the city in partnership with Chiltern Railways.
Built in 1909, the building was to be carefully and sympathetically refurbished in the style of a 1930’s station, with brickwork, colouring, signage, fixtures and fittings chosen to reflect the era. Now complete and open to the public, it is operated by Chiltern Railways.
Charcon’s EcoPave flag paving was used to finish off the refurbished station to help restore it to its former glory.
More than 3,000 m2 of custom made 750x600x50 mm EcoPave flag paving, both in a Black Fleck textured finish, were supplied to Hill Street Construction for installation on the three platforms of the old station and their approaches.
