Aggregate Industries has made the shortlist from a phenomenal number of entrants which is a credit to the organisation’s commitment to health and safety.
The Construction News Awards are the leading industry awards, whose mission it is to highlight the best work being undertaken in the construction sector. The awards have a total of 21 categories which range from ‘Project of the Year’ to ‘Diversity Champion of the Year’. The Construction News Awards will be judged by 50+ judges. The panel is made up of the most experienced consultants and experts in the industry.
Aggregate Industries’ entry into the category of Health and Safety excellence was based on the organisation’s commitment to keep everyone safe at work. Many of its employees, subcontractors and third-party workers work with heavy equipment and vehicles daily.They are exposed to a variety of risks which can endanger health and life. For this reason health and safety is a number one priority at Aggregate Industries.
Aggregate Industries were judged on the following the criteria. The outcomes of H&S initiatives taken, innovation in H&S approach and an embedded culture of H&S within the business. Also criteria such as commitment to improving employee mental health and wellbeing was noted alongside how the organisation have extended the H&S culture and commitment up and / or down your supply chain.
Aggregate Industries submission derived from the organisation’s commitment to health and safety demonstrated by the random drug and alcohol testing on and off site, and Aggregate Industries Healthy You initiative which encourages employees to become active and lead a healthy life in and out of work. The next stage of the Construction News Awards judging process is a presentation and interview. The winner will then be announced at a black tie event in London on the 13th July.
