Express Collect has been successfully piloted in the South East and is currently launching across the South West Express business with the North and Midlands regions to follow in January 2018.
The app will enable customers to buy asphalt, or tools and equipment, from any one of the business’ 36 Express Asphalt depots across England. Akin to ‘the click and collect’ mechanic in the e-commerce arena, this means that customers can pre-order at their convenience before collecting their order. The result is minimum hassle and no more waiting on the phone, whilst increasing turnaround times and improving efficiencies on site.
As another big plus, this digital approach to ordering means customers are able view all historic orders – making it easier to place repeat orders or cross reference between jobs.
Easy to use, the Collect Express apps sends customers an email confirmation upon purchase. Customer can purchase from a wide range of asphalt, as well as tools and equipment.
This activity follows on from the launch a suite of innovative Express Asphalt apps since last year, most recently, the launch of a purchase card option.
Duncan Reaney, General Manager of Express Asphalt at Aggregate Industries UK, said:
“The digitalisation of purchasing shouldn’t be confined to the consumer realm; it can also play a huge role in streamlining operations and improving efficiencies for time-stretched trade sectors.
“As part of our ongoing commitment to revolutionising the asphalt specification process, to make it much simpler and quicker for our valued customers, we continue to invest heavily digitalising our offer.
“This latest app, the first of its kind for our industry, means customers can plan ahead and order in advance, meaning that it will be ready to collect when they arrive at the depot so that they can get on with the job in hand. ”
The pioneering Express Asphalt service offers guaranteed 30-minute turnarounds on single asphalt load products and 24-hour plant openings on request.
