Aggregate Industries will compete as a finalist in key categories including Sustainable Company of the Year, Employer of the Year and Product Innovation. We have also been shortlisted for Best Use of Technology for the implementation of Bar-Tec in partnership with Moba.
The Construction News Awards are highly regarded, and competition is fierce. With seventeen categories in total, the awards are designed to cover every aspect of construction from training to technology, and to recognise construction excellence through the value chain.
Announcing the shortlisted companies, Construction News Editor, Rebecca Evans commented: “The construction industry has a lot to shout about and these awards are a part of that, each of you should feel rightly proud to be among our finalists.”
In 2013 a record number of entries were received.
Aggregate Industries managers are now looking forward to showcasing achievement in each category before a panel selected from the very top of the industry. Judges include clients, contractors, consultants and government, including senior figures from Network Rail, Crossrail and the Cabinet Office.
Director of Sustainable Construction Miles Watkins comments,
‘To have been recognised as a finalist in four categories is a testament to everything that we’re working together to achieve. Even better, we’ve been recognised under the headings that mean the most to us to a company. In a tough market, we’ve made a conscious effort to keep investing in our people, and with so much to be done in order to meet our national carbon reduction targets, we continue to put sustainability at the centre of everything we do. Our only regret is that we haven’t managed to get our industry leading health and safety performance short-listed this year. As the best performing company at the top of the mineral products sector, our LTIFR is under 0.5, and with more than 4,000 staff, we had only 5 lost time injuries in 2012.‘
Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony, which will be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on July 11th.
