The board oversees our performance and ensures that we are adhering to the principles of good corporate governance. The board has representation from the business in the form of executive directors and also from parent company Holcim. This allows a direct line for the communication of issues, direction and recommendations from employees and shareholders.
The board has three sub-committees: audit, compensation and compliance and corporate social responsibility.
A Fellow of the Institute of Quarrying and a Companion of the Chartered Institute of Management, Bill began his construction career in 1970 working in mining in Australia and the Koolan Islands, before joining Tarmac in 1974.

James Davis is a consultant with Freshfields, the City law firm, specializing in general corporate advice, public and private mergers and acquisitions and private equity work.
Norman Fowler has combined politics and business in his career. In politics he was a member of Margaret Thatcher’s cabinet from 1979 to 1990.
A graduate in business administration from the University of Zurich and has held various roles with the Holcim Group.
