When Honda, their garden designer Adam Frost and APL award winning contractors New Ground Landscapes were looking for the right product for what they hoped was a potential award winning garden, they naturally turned to Bradstone...
The Honda garden at the Gardeners World Live Exhibition, held at the NEC in Birmingham was called "Childhood Memories" designed to provoke nostalgic childhood recollections among show-goers of time spent outdoors in the garden.
Bradstone suggested Polished Natural Sandstone in Silver Grey to be the perfect material for this garden. The paving perfectly complimented the green, silver and purple planting scheme chosen by Adam Frost.
Judged to the same RHS standards as Chelsea, this stunning garden was awarded Gold and "Best in Show" at the event, which attracted thousands of gardeners from all over the country.
The garden featured a woodland area with a firepit set into the Bradstone paving, great for taosting marshmallows. And of course there was a tent that doubled as a den. Finally there were dipping ponds and a play lawn for a game of boule or skittles with Grandad. All of these were an interpretation of precious childhood moments. Especially relevant as the final day of the show was Father's Day.
As a final thought, all the main elements of the garden, including the Bradstone paving, have been donated to Greenfingers which creates gardens for children in hospices all over the country, and will see more equally precious memories created.
