Stability

Our sand is ideal for creating robust, interlocking structures when mixed with materials like cement. The irregular shape and coarse surface of the sand particles improve the bond between cement and aggregate, leading to more durable structures. This ensures that the buildings can withstand heavy loads and environmental pressures over time.

Durability

Sand is essential for reducing the risk of settling and ensuring structural soundness. It also enhances the resilience of construction materials against weathering and erosion, which significantly extends the lifespan of your structures.

Workability

Sand enhances the workability of construction materials, making them easier to mix, shape, and finish. The fine particles fill voids between larger aggregates, producing smooth and workable mixtures for concrete, mortar, plaster, and more. Our sand is also highly adaptable, making it suitable for a wide range of construction applications.

Why choose our Construction & Industrial Sands?

As your premier source for high-quality construction sands across the UK, our expert teams specialise in unlocking the natural attributes of sand to deliver a comprehensive range of standard and specialist aggregate solutions tailored to meet your project needs.

At Aggregate Industries, we understand the importance of reliable and performance-driven aggregates sand and gravel in construction. Whether you're building residential, commercial, or industrial structures, our aggregates are engineered to deliver optimal results. From foundational materials to finishing touches, we offer a diverse selection of construction sands designed to enhance the durability, efficiency, and aesthetic appeal of your projects.

Choosing the right sand is crucial for the success of any construction project, and our premium construction sand is designed to meet the highest standards. We source our sand from our renowned quarries - Levenseat and Garside, ensuring that every grain meets strict quality standards. Our sand is meticulously processed to provide consistent particle size and composition, which is essential for achieving uniformity in your construction materials. Whether you're mixing concrete, laying bricks, or creating mortar, our sand delivers reliable performance every time.

We offer sharp sand, also known as coarse sand, gritty sand, or builder's sand, with large, angular grains. Sharp sand's gritty texture makes it ideal for a variety of construction and landscaping projects. Sharp sand is often used in concrete mixes to provide additional strength and stability. Its rough texture allows for better bonding with cement, making it a popular choice for laying patios, driveways, and paving slabs When used in screeding to create a level surface before laying flooring, sharp sand provides the necessary robustness. Its coarse nature makes sharp sand excellent for improving drainage in soil, often used in gardening and landscaping to break up heavy clay soils.
In industrial manufacturing, sand can be used for numerous applications, including brick manufacturing as a filler material, for dressing and mold release and in the production of cement, within the grinding process.

We offer high quality products, making our sand an excellent choice for both small and large-scale projects. Additionally, our extensive supply network ensures that our sand is always available when you need it, reducing delays and keeping your project on schedule. Whether you're constructing roads, bridges, buildings, or landscaping, our construction aggregates are your trusted solution for delivering lasting results.

Plastering sand

Aggregate Industries' plastering sand is a fine-grained sand that has been washed to remove all silt. This is done to give it a smooth finish and to reduce both cracking and shrinking when dried. Plastering sand will be used within plastering and rendering, meaning it functions internally and externally. The grains themselves will be smooth and rounded, with no sharp edges.
