The leading building materials supplier, with its group headquarters near Coalville in Leicestershire, is a Gold Sponsor for the event on Saturday September 2.

In its 15th year, Leicester Pride will this year see a change of location and has moved to the city’s Abbey Park.

To literally mark the occasion, Aggregate Industries worked with road marking specialists WJ, TSM Traffic Management and the city council to lay a Pride themed path on the route into Abbey Park.

The vibrant pathway will be crossed by thousands of people who will form the parade from the city centre into the park across the Charter Footbridge as part of the event.

Thomas Edgcumbe, Managing Director for the Surfacing Solutions division at Aggregate Industries said: “Equality, diversity and inclusion is a really important part of our culture at Aggregate Industries. We’re committed to creating a workplace where people feel able to be their best and true selves which I think makes it a special place to work and helps us stand out in the industry.”

James Roberts, Director of HR at Aggregate Industries, said: “We’re delighted to be a headline sponsor at Leicester Pride again this year and proud to be able to show our commitment through the laying of this pathway which I hope will still be there long after Pride has finished.”

Aggregate Industries will have a prominent pitch at the event, where members of its team will be on hand to discuss the diverse careers available across the business, the company’s approach to inclusivity, and its High Viz LGBTQ+ Network.

Aron Simpson-Webb, Internal Communications Manager and Network Lead of the High Viz LGBTQ+ Network, said: “We’re looking forward to Leicester Pride and playing a prominent role in what is always a fabulous celebration.

“As a Leicester local and proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I’m so happy that the company I work for is a sponsor of Leicester Pride and is visibly showing its dedication and commitment to inclusivity. And it’s not only through the sponsorship but also by the creation of the new pathway which looks fantastic and hopefully creates a lasting legacy.”

Leicester Pride chair Martyn Parker said: “Leicester Pride is thrilled to announce that Aggregate Industries has once again chosen to be one of our gold sponsors for this year’s celebrations. Their ongoing support enables us to host one of Leicester’s largest cultural events of the year, allowing thousands to celebrate all aspects of the LGBTQ+ community as well as promote diversity and equality within the county.”
