Lafarge Rapid Set packed cement is a fast hardening Portland cement for use on projects where strength, speed and durability are key.
Through the addition of calcium aluminate, Rapid Set creates a high-quality finish in a fraction of the time it takes for a standard cement to harden. Concrete made using the product sets within one hour, is safe for foot traffic within four hours and will withstand vehicular traffic after only 12 hours of setting time. When fully hardened, Rapid Set is both water and frost resistant.
Lafarge Rapid Set can be used for multiple applications - from repair works and brick and block laying through to general concrete, render and screed use. When it comes to preparing wall and floor substrates, renders and bonded screeds which use our rapid set cement will be ready for tiling after just four hours.
Mixing Guidance
Our 25kg bagged rapid set cement has been specially formulated for mixing with sand and water in a standard concrete mixer. The product is suitable for use in both wet and dry installations, including swimming pools.
For optimum performance, it's essential that mixes containing rapid set cement should not dry out too quickly.
