Type 1 is a granular sub-base material, consisting of aggregate that is crushed and screened to provide a blend of aggregate size from 40mm down to fine dust. This range of particle sizes ensures the material is easy to compact to create a solid foundation, with excellent load bearing capacity.
Our Type 1 complies to all standards outlined in SHW Clause 803, making this an approved sub-base in the construction sector, ideal for use in the construction of roads, highways, and pathways.
The composition of our Type 1 depends on the geology of the supplying quarry, and we can produce it using gritstone, limestone, granite, or basalt. We also produce Type 1 containing recycled materials, making this a more sustainable option, supporting a circular economy.
